Owner of Columbus Placenta Encapsulation, Rachel McCloskey is a local midwife and certified placenta arts specialist. She is the only encapsulator in the area to work in a professionally constructed, specialized workspace for the safest processing. Safety is our top priority.
Rachel began offering placenta encapsulation in 2009 and has prepared over 1000 placentas for families all over Central Ohio. Services included steamed, or raw-start encapsulation, natural art prints, tinctures, broth and flavoured capsules. A free cord keepsake and a digital photo are included for every client who chooses them with their capsules.
We pick up by meeting a family member, from all area hospitals as well as from home births. If you prefer your placenta be processed in your home, we offer premium in-home encapsulation service.

Whilst living in Bali from 2011-2016, I was inspired to hear the cultural ceremonies and rituals that surrounded the Placenta. This encouraged me to learn about the postpartum benefits of the placenta and honouring this special organ. Odile is a mother of one, wife, 2 x business owner, APPA certified placenta arts specialist and qualified naturopath. After the birth of her daughter in 2016, a fire was lit surrounding women's knowledge and empowerment for all things pregnancy, labour and postpartum related - and so Earthside was born.
Currently offering placenta services in the Perth area of Western Australia and soon to be offering doula services and Hypnobirthing International classes to really offer full support for mamas and their partners. Odile also has beautiful handcrafted products including birth affirmation cards and a naturopathic herbal postpartum bath soak available on her website.

Roxanne at 'Earthside Apothecary' is passionate about all things bumps, birth and babies. Roxanne is a registered midwife, student doula, Bengkung Belly Binding practitioner and a qualified APPAC Placenta Arts Specialist. Since graduating from midwifery in 2013, Roxanne has supported women and their families through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
Roxanne has always been an advocate of natural therapies and their use within a holistic approach to childbirth. Becoming a placenta arts specialist was an organic progression in her career. Jenny moved to Western Australia in 2013 from the UK with her family. She has been a Registered Midwife since 2010 and Holistic Therapist since 2006. Jenny is qualified in Aromatherapy, Clinical Reflexology and is a Reiki Master and uses these to promote women's health in pregnancy and in the postnatal period. Obviously being a Midwife shes loves and finds Placentas fascinating and wanted to extend her skills after hearing many women's story's of their positives experiences when taking their placenta capsules. After almost 2 years of placenta experience, Jenny is even more passionate to provide this amazing opportunity for women in the postnatal period.

Alesha Kreger,
Alesha Kreger is the mother of four beautiful children. She first learned about placentophagy, the consumption of the placenta following birth, during her doula training while pregnant with her second child. She chose to encapsulate the placenta of her second child and experienced the wonderful feeling of her milk coming in only hours after her first set of capsules, after having insignificant milk production with her first child. After the birth of her third child, she joined the Doula Network of Fort Wayne and began to look for a program to train in the placenta arts. She found APPA, Association of Placenta Preparations and Arts, and completed her certification in April 2018. She has been ServSafe certified since July 2016, and OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens Certified since April 2017. She serves those in the Northeastern Indiana and Northwestern corner of OH.
